2008-2012 FIVE-YEAR CDBG CONSOLIDATED PLAN CITY OF DUNKIRK, NY

INTRODUCTION

Planning for the 2008-2012 enabled the City of Dunkirk to discuss needs and opportunities throughout the area.  The discussions surrounding the five-year consolidated plan began in 2006 with the citizen comment public hearings for the FY 2007 CDBG Action Plan.  The City of Dunkirk is proud to say that over the last five years, we have not only taken back control of the oversight and administration of our CDBG program, but as of 2007 we have accomplished over approximately 90% of the goals listed in the City’s previous five-year plan.

This Consolidated Plan shows the results of intensive citizen participation, involvement of city staff and non-profit agencies to provide an effective voice for the low-moderate City of Dunkirk residents that the five-year plan serves.  Consultations with a wide variety of public agencies as well as with the Department of Housing and Urban Development has helped the City of Dunkirk to gain useful information, experience partnerships as well as the timing of various kinds of community development.
