FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: City of Dunkirk Announces the Addition of the City Code and Charter Documents to www.cityofdunkirk.com.

Dunkirk, NY – Saturday, May 02, 2009

The City of Dunkirk is pleased to announce that the efforts to provide the citizens and stakeholders of the City of Dunkirk the information needed to be informed constituents is continuing with the addition of the City Charter and City Code to www.cityofdunkirk.com.  Over the past several months www.cityofdunkirk.com has undergone a complete overhaul that includes the addition of Council meeting video, web polls, breaking news releases, city calendars, and newsletters now includes the addition of the City Code and Charter Documents. 

In an effort to make these documents easier to use they have been divided into several documents each containing a single chapter or topic.  These documents can be found under the “Law” tab on the www.cityofdunkirk.com menu. 

According to Mayor Frey “The addition of these documents is another positive step toward improving the transparency of City government.  I hope the citizens of Dunkirk find this to be a valuable resource to use.”  Development Director, Kory Ahlstrom pointed out that “this project really was made possible by the diligent work of the Law department that has recently completed the work to transform the old documents into electronic documents that could be easily converted for web use.”

Additional enhancements to www.cityofdunkirk.com have been recently enabled including a search feature and additional enhancements are planned for the future. Residents are encouraged to regularly check the website for updates.
