Congressman Higgins Announces $3.5 Million for Dunkirk Airport

In an announcement held today at the Dunkirk Aviation offices within the Dunkirk Airport Facility Congressman Higgins announced that the airport would be receiving $3.5 Million from the Federal Aviation Administration's Airport Improvement Program (FAA AIP).  

This funding will provide for improvements including the expansion of Runway 24 to accommodate the business jet aircraft that regularly fly into the airport.  Several city leaders attended the event Including Mayor Richard Frey, Councilman Kevin Muldowney, Councilwoman Rose Floramo, Legislator Keith Ahlstrom, Legislator Shaun Heenan, and Legislator Robert Duff.

May Frey offered the following feedback regarding this funding "The Dunkirk Airport facility has the potential to be a key piece of regional infrastructure as we continue to seek ways to improve and grow the local economy.  Another key to continued economic growth in this region is the leadership and vision of Congressman Higgins and our entire congressional delegation who I commend for their foresight in obtaining this vitally important funding."
