MLB Junior Home Run Derby Contest

Mayor Rosas was on hand to throw out the first pitch at the Jr. Home Run Derby Contest put on by the City’s Youth & Recreation Department. Close to 100 home run balls took flight off the bats of 16 youngsters as part of the MLB Junior Home Run Derby Contest at Promenschenkel Stadium on Saturday. Over 20 participants in both a 14u and 12u division took part in the long-ball challenge.

The two winning sluggers — 14u Champion Javier DeJesus and 12u Champion Robert Kozlowski — will represent WNY area at the Regional Competition outside of Philadelphia, PA on July 1st. The winners of the Regional Competition will go on to participate in the finals at the MLB Allstar Game in Washington DC.
