City-only recycling facility and City-only yard waste facility open again starting Saturday

Mayor Rosas has announced that the City of Dunkirk DPW recycling and City yard waste facility on Lucas Avenue will be re-opened for City-only residents as well as City Permit holding Contractors on Saturday, April 11, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.   The facility will now also be open Monday through Fridays, 7am- 2pm effective Monday, April 13th

As stated last week, recycling material will now be sorted in the indoor bins and all materials must be clean of debris.

The facility is camera-monitored and vehicle plates will be recorded and checked to be sure they carry in-City registration. Non-resident dumping will be prosecuted with significant fines under City Code.

Remember to check your recycling calendars for yard waste pickup right at the street near your house during the summer months and also for the days the City picks up your recyclables right at your curb side.

Thank you for your cooperation as the City continues a tighter approach to yard waste disposal and recycling collection. Mayor Rosas asks that everyone please maintain social distancing at these facilities and do all other recommendations to keep yourself and others safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
