Anthony J Dolce, 40th Mayor of the City of Dunkirk
Dunkirk Mayor, Anthony J. (A.J.) Dolce, is approaching his 12th year in public office, 4th as Mayor. Previously, Mayor Dolce served as First Ward Councilman from 2003-2009, and Councilman-at-Large from 2010-2012. During his time on council Dolce served as chair of Public Safety and Finance committees.
Prior to serving in public office Mr. Dolce taught for ten years, beginning at Northern Chautauqua Catholic School in Dunkirk, then Persell Middle School in Jamestown, and finally Cassadaga Job Corps. Mr. Dolce earned his B.A. in English from SUNY Fredonia in 2001 and later completed his Master’s in English in 2011.
Mayor Dolce believes that sound infrastructure, improving our Housing stock, and promoting Economic development are the foundations to building a successful city that all residents can feel a sense of pride in.
To that end, the City has invested significant State DOT/CHIPS and HUD funds toward road reconstruction, home owner rehab and demolition (with CHRIC & the County Land Bank program), as well as push numerous development efforts across the city, with an added focus on the waterfront.
Mayor Dolce resides with his wife, Jordyn, who works as a speech pathologist for Catholic Health Systems and their three sons, Anthony, Evan, and Louie.
